All Jersey scenes are inspired not only by their history and character but by the beautiful surroundings. I cannot paint a Jersey scene without delving into its history and finding out more about it. You might find it interesting too.

At over 800 years old, this magnificent castle, (named Gorey Castle or Mont Orgueil) looming over and protecting Gorey harbour has been inhabited by Royalty, prisoners and more recently, occupying forces during WW2. A museum since 1929 the views over the east coast are spectacular.

Many a memorable time with our children pounding up and down the steps and corridors of this wonderful castle in awe at all the history oozing from every inch of its magnificence. An iconic view that I pass most days, still defending the East of the Island.
