All Jersey scenes are inspired not only by their history and character but by the beautiful surroundings. I cannot paint a Jersey scene without delving into its history and finding out more about it. You might find it interesting too.

A maritime place of refuge, first documented in early 1600’s, this is the place where the French landed to attack the island in the Battle of Jersey. The pier was built a century later in the 19th century.

Our place to set off for the walk to Seymour Tower. Beautiful small beach, lots of little boats bobbing on the water, the pier to walk along and rocks to climb. I was fascinated by the range of orange, brown, pink and greys of the granite.
