All Jersey scenes are inspired not only by their history and character but by the beautiful surroundings. I cannot paint a Jersey scene without delving into its history and finding out more about it. You might find it interesting too.

Cut off at high tide by a granite headland, the beach extends when joined together with St. Brelades bay and beach at low tide. Lying behind the seawall is Ouaisne common, one of the Islands richest and most diverse nature reserves.

A beautiful bay, surrounded on the left by huge granite cliffs, a sweeping shoreline to the next lower granite headland on the right. I find the defence seawall fascinating, it’s smooth concrete shape compared to the rugged, craggy granite cliffs and headlands.
