All Jersey scenes are inspired not only by their history and character but by the beautiful surroundings. I cannot paint a Jersey scene without delving into its history and finding out more about it. You might find it interesting too.

Constructed 1796 – 1801, this Martello tower stands on an islet in the middle of St. Ouens bay and protected us from French invaders. Taken over by the German forces during WW2, and heavily mined, major damage was caused when some accidentally detonated. Full repairs were carried out in the 1960s.

Rocco tower is just there, in the middle of the vastness of St. Ouens bay, battered by the Atlantic rollers, standing proud, it simply has to be painted!
