All Jersey scenes are inspired not only by their history and character but by the beautiful surroundings. I cannot paint a Jersey scene without delving into its history and finding out more about it. You might find it interesting too.

This rocky outcrop which overlooks Anne Port bay on the NE of the Island. According to folklore, a man named Geffroy was found guilty of a crime and sentenced to be thrown off this cliff into the sea. Crowds gathered, he was thrown off the cliff by the Hangman. Luck was on his side and Geffroy survived the fall and swam back to shore. Some said he should be pardoned and to prove this point and being full of bravado, Geffroy leapt off the cliff again but this time perished.
