All Jersey scenes are inspired not only by their history and character but by the beautiful surroundings. I cannot paint a Jersey scene without delving into its history and finding out more about it. You might find it interesting too.

Amongst the high granite cliffs, this natural crater (approx 100ft wide by 200ft deep), formed by the ferocious seas eroding this huge cave until its roof collapsed, can be accessed by a steep walk taking in the beautiful scenery. In 1851, the figurehead of a shipwreck washed up in the cave and was then fashioned into a Devil and placed outside the cave.
